2021 may have been a crazy year, but it still saw a whole lot of romance!

During the year, we saw many couples in the public eye take their relationship to the next level. From intimate announcements to extravagant proposals, the love was felt by many couples far and wide, with several celebrities now sporting gorgeous diamond engagement rings.

Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa

Announcing their engagement via Instagram, actress Kate Hudson and long-time boyfriend Danny Fujikawa shared their joy with followers in early September. After posting to social media, Hudson made her first appearance with the engagement ring the same night on the 2021 Met Gala red carpet.

The diamond engagement ring itself was certainly fit for the event. The ring featured a unique elongated light-brown cushion cut diamond set in an east-west style. It had a rose gold design that conveys a vintage influence and aesthetic. The stunning piece showed further brilliance with accent diamonds set along with the band.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker

Popping the question at the Rosewood Miramar, Montecito, California in October, Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker, asked media personality and Poosh founder Kourtney Kardashian for her hand in marriage. The proposal took place in the middle of a massive heart-shaped floral arrangement on the beach, surrounded by candles.

The musician selected a lavish oval cut solitaire diamond ring for the engagement ring. Paired with a subtle thin pavé diamond band, it beautifully emphasises the large, elongated diamond. Truly breathtaking!

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari

Making their lengthy relationship official, iconic pop star Britney Spears and partner Sam Asghari shared their exciting news with the world in September. Taking to Instagram to share photos of the newly engaged couple, followers were given a close up of the compelling round brilliant engagement ring.

Asghari selected a dazzling cathedral setting, with tasteful pavé detailing along the bridge, prongs and basket of the floating solitaire design. Asghari engraved his endearing pet name for Spears, “Lioness”, for further sentimental value, on the band. A one-of-a-kind ring for a one-of-a-kind lady!

Paris Hilton and Carter Reum

Not only did they get engaged earlier in the year, but socialite, Paris Hilton and entrepreneur Carter Reum, also tied the knot hosting their wedding in November! Posting to her website, Hilton detailed the proposal that took place days before her birthday on a private island.

On a pre-dinner stroll along the beach, Reum got down on one knee to propose to The Simple Life star. Opting for a customised ring, Reum proposed with a glamorous trilogy engagement ring. It featured an emerald-cut diamond between two shield-cut diamonds in a tension setting. For that further touch of brilliance, small pavé diamonds outline the central diamond and prongs, creating a dazzling masterpiece.

Linday Lohan and Bader Shammas

A year of happiness for some of the most influential figures of the 2000s, Lindsay Lohan also saw a happy ending with her partner, Bader Shammas. Sharing the big news through the actresses Instagram account, the smitten couple posted an assortment of loved-up images that capture the romantic essence of their news.

While not much is known about the proposal itself, the diamond ring appears to be a solitaire square radiant or cushion cut. Set on a petit band with pavé diamonds along the side, this dainty design is undoubtedly a classy choice.

Ash Barty and Garry Kissick

One of our very own Australian tennis legends, Ash Barty, confirmed her engagement with partner Garry Kissick through an Instagram post in November.

Showing off her engagement ring, the athlete now sports a flashy white diamond ring. What a year it has been for World Number 1!
